Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen is in Chisinau. He arrived at the invitation of Anatolie Nosatii and held meetings with his Moldovan counterpart and Prime Minister Dorin Recean.
The Copenhagen official announced plans to open a Danish Security Agency in Chisinau and to provide €7 million over four years to strengthen Moldova’s defense capabilities.
He discussed regional security, the war in Ukraine, and its impact on Moldova with Anatolie Nosatii. He said Denmark will support Moldova’s National Army to help modernize and reinforce it.

The head of Moldova’s Defense announced that representatives of the “Alexandru cel Bun” Military Academy gained the expertise to improve training quality and that the armed forces received necessary equipment, including training simulators.
Anatolie Nosatii said Denmark may appoint a military attache to Moldova.
Prime Minister Dorin Recean thanked Danish authorities for supporting Moldova’s European path and emphasized strong cooperation in energy efficiency, security capacity building, and protecting electoral processes from foreign interference.
Officials also discussed Denmark’s role as holder of the EU Council Presidency in the second half of 2025. According to Chisinau authorities, this period is crucial for advancing Moldova’s EU accession negotiations.
