The Reintegration Policies Bureau reported that Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, Oleg Serebrian, held a meeting today with Slawomir Pichor, the Head of the European Union Mission Border Assistance Mission to Moldova and Ukraine (EUBAM).
During the meeting, the officials discussed the activities and measures implemented by EUBAM as part of the Mission’s Action Plan for 2023-2025, particularly focusing on supporting the Transnistrian settlement process.
Serebrian expressed appreciation for EUBAM’s proactive involvement in generating topic-related reports regarding the dynamic commercial and economic interaction between the two banks of the Dniester River. He also commended their technical opinions on customs, fiscal policies, state border management, and other related aspects, aimed at standardizing norms and requirements across the country.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the increasing importance of the EU’s role in the settlement process. He highlighted the necessity of EUBAM’s expertise in fiscal and customs matters, as well as integrated border management, in light of the evolving dynamics of the region.
