Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popsoi will visit the United States for diplomatic and community engagements. On 29 March, he will attend the official inauguration of the Consulate of the Republic of Moldova in Sacramento and meet with members of the Moldovan community. On the same day, Moldova will open its second U.S. consulate in Chicago.
“Expanding the consular network is a strategic step toward improving services for Moldovan citizens in the United States. The new consulates in Sacramento and Chicago will strengthen ties with the diaspora and provide better access to consular assistance,” Popsoi stated.
During his visit to Washington, he will meet with officials from the U.S. State Department, Congress, and the National Security Council. He will also participate in a public debate organized by the Atlantic Council, focusing on Moldova’s path to EU accession and strengthening bilateral relations with the U.S.
