News from the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova. Vice President Mihail Popșoi launched a book entitled: “Europeanization versus democratization in Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine. Internal and External Challenges for Democratic Consolidation”.
The book was published in English, and the event was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, Oleg Serebrian, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Nicu Popescu, as well as experts in the field.
“From an academic perspective, I tried to analyze all the risks, the vulnerabilities of the respective countries from the perspective of democracy and Europeanization. Obviously, we know the risk factors very well, but neither I, nor scientists much more experienced than me, could foresee the consequences of those situations of harmful influence, which we went through all these years”, stated Popșoi .

The book represents, according to the vice-speaker of the Parliament, an academic work with the help of which Popșoi obtained the title of doctor in political sciences at the University of Milan.
“The author emphasized those internal and external challenges in what is called democratic consolidation. The paper was written before the events catalyzed on the 24th of February. This is concentrated in such a way as to cover the most sensitive areas: economic, legal, political, perspectives”, added the vice-president of the Culture, Education, Research, Youth, Sports and Mass Media Commission, Virgiliu Pâslariuc.
The representatives from the Parliament announce that, soon, the version in Romanian will be drafted.
