The 10th edition of Moldova’s Diaspora Days will take place from August 3 to August 21 under the slogan “Wherever We Are, Moldova Unites Us!” During nearly three weeks of events, Moldovans living abroad and their families will be invited to participate in dozens of cultural, educational, sporting and civic activities.
According to the organisers, this year’s programme highlights the diaspora’s contribution to Moldova’s development and aims to give participants an opportunity to reconnect with their home country, engage in dialogue with public authorities and contribute ideas for the development of local communities.
The programme’s flagship event will be the Diaspora Forum, scheduled for August 7. The forum will bring together members of the diaspora, government officials and civil society representatives to discuss the role of Moldovans living abroad in the country’s development.
The forum agenda includes three thematic panel discussions focusing on civic participation and European integration, the exchange of experience among Moldovan communities abroad, and the diaspora’s role in the sustainable development of their hometowns and villages. The event will conclude with a screening of a Moldovan film.
As part of Diaspora Days, 22 public institutions will also take part in an Open Doors Day. Members of the diaspora will have the opportunity to learn more about the institutions’ work and public services through 31 workshops, held both in person and online. Moldova’s Parliament will also open its doors to visitors.
The programme additionally features a book exhibition and meetings with diaspora authors, the “Youth Talk: Young People Change the World” event, hiking trips across several regions of the country, the Diaspora Football Cup on August 15, and a City Quest interactive game allowing participants to explore Chisinau’s main tourist attractions.
The Bureau for Relations with the Diaspora has invited Moldovans living abroad, their families and diaspora associations to consult the full programme and register for the activities planned during Diaspora Days 2026.
