The controversy surrounding MoldATSA has renewed public debate over the hiring of relatives in Moldova’s public institutions.
Citizens say such cases undermine trust in state institutions and argue that recruitment in the public sector should be fully transparent. According to those interviewed, the CVs of candidates, public employees’ salaries and asset declarations should be publicly available.
Regarding possible sanctions, many respondents believe that both the person who benefited from preferential treatment and the official who facilitated the appointment should be held accountable.
Some said dismissal would be an appropriate consequence, while others called for a comprehensive investigation and the resignation of everyone found to have been involved.
