Discussed the “Pridnestrovian issue”: Oleg Serebrian met with the Ambassador of the special mission of Ukraine in Moldova

On Thursday, June 22, Vice Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebryan held a working meeting with the Ambassador of Special Missions of Ukraine, Paun Rohovei, responsible for the “Transnistrian issue,” and with the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Moldova, Mark Shevchenko.

The discussions focused on the current regional situation, developments, problems, risks, assistance needs, and opportunities, with an exchange of views on the prospects for moving forward in the Transnistrian regulation process.

The firm support from Ukraine was confirmed in achieving a peaceful and sustainable settlement of the Transnistrian conflict with the restoration of the territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova, respect for the sovereignty of the country, and its borders recognized by the international community.

It is emphasized that in the new realities and the European course of both countries, the role of the European Union in the regulatory process will become even more important.

The officials agreed and confirmed the need to coordinate actions and approaches on various aspects of mutual interest, as well as to strengthen various forms of interaction in promoting a firm territorial and sectoral reintegration policy in the interests of citizens and both countries.
