On Tuesday, March 25, the President hosted the NATO Parliamentary Assembly delegation at the Presidency. The delegation was on a working visit to the Republic of Moldova from March 24 to 25.
During the meeting, President Sandu reaffirmed Moldova’s commitment to regional security and peace, emphasizing the importance of dialogue and international cooperation to strengthen the citizens’ safety, enhance defense capabilities, and bolster societal resilience, according to a statement from the Presidential Administration.
The discussions also addressed regional challenges and the risks of Russia’s war against Ukraine. President Sandu highlighted external interference aimed at destabilizing democratic processes and undermining Moldova’s internal stability. She also emphasized the importance of achieving a just and lasting peace in Ukraine, which is essential for the security and stability of the region and all of Europe, the statement added.

Over the past 30 years of the Partnership for Peace between Moldova and NATO, the country has benefited from support through various programs targeting pesticide destruction, the removal of landmines and surplus munitions, enhancing cybersecurity, and modernizing defense capabilities.
Like other neutral and non-aligned countries, including Austria, Switzerland, and Ireland, Moldova collaborates with NATO to protect its citizens and infrastructure and strengthen the public sector through professional training programs.
