Do not click! Fake links using MPay and EVO are attempting to steal citizens’ data

The Government of the Republic of Moldova warns about a fraud scheme that illegally uses the identity of MPay and EVO. Citizens who receive messages about an alleged “outstanding road tax” and are urged to access links such as conveniencemd.sbs/md should know that these do not belong to the Government and represent phishing attempts aimed at fraudulently collecting personal and banking data.

The official platform for such payments is mpay.gov.md.

MPay and EVO do not send suspicious links via messages to collect tax payments. Authorities urge citizens to always verify the official “gov.md” domain, avoid entering personal or banking data on unknown websites, and refrain from accessing suspicious links.

If they receive such messages, citizens should report them immediately to: csirt@asc.gov.md or cyber.sec@egov.md.
