Prime Minister Dorin Recean and Ukraine’s Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova, Paun Rohovei, discussed the development of cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine. They also talked about the friendly relations between the two countries, according to government representatives.
According to the government’s press release, Prime Minister Dorin Recean once again highlighted Ukraine’s courage and sacrifice in the face of Russia’s unjustified aggression, which protects the security of the entire region.
In turn, Ambassador Paun Rohovei mentioned that the Republic of Moldova is a true friend and emphasized the immense support Moldova has offered to Ukrainian refugees and the political backing at the international level.
The officials also discussed cooperation in various areas, considering their shared goal of becoming part of the European Union.

“Through integration into the European family, both peoples will secure a more prosperous and civilized future. A broader European Union means more prosperity and security,” said Prime Minister Dorin Recean.
In this context, officials highlighted the effectiveness of the Moldova – Ukraine – Romania cooperation format. The priority areas of interest are energy, infrastructure, expanding the transport network through a bridge over the Dniester, and information and cybersecurity. The goal is also to increase investments to strengthen defense system resilience.
New initiatives will also be promoted in culture and education to facilitate the integration of Ukrainian refugees into the Republic of Moldova while ensuring that Ukrainians preserve their traditions and culture.
We remind you that Paun Rohovei was appointed as the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Moldova on February 7, 2025, when Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed the decree.
