Moldovan employees could benefit from vacation vouchers. The Ministry of Culture is preparing a bill to regulate this facility. The tickets will remain valid for one year. An authorized operator will grant them, based on an order signed by the management of the company or institution.

The employer will not have the right to reduce the salaries of voucher beneficiaries if they receive this facility. Companies will provide vacation vouchers at their discretion, and employees cannot be obligated to use them.

If an employee wants to use the vacation voucher, they must purchase at least two types of travel services, with accommodation being mandatory. Establishments that accept vouchers will allow their use, and the holder must present an ID.

“Granting vacation vouchers will impact the development of a culture of traveling within the country. Creating a culture of choosing domestic vacations is a complex process. This process does not limit itself to promoting tourism, but also involves educational, economic, and social factors that shape a favorable attitude towards domestic destinations. This is why we must implement policies to help citizens become aware of the value of their country’s cultural and natural heritage. Service providers who want to offer their services based on vacation vouchers will strengthen their competitiveness on the market. Accepting vacation vouchers will distinguish them in the face of competition. In addition, service providers will benefit from consumer promotion once they accept providing services based on vouchers,” state the officials from the Ministry of Culture.

The value of vacation vouchers will constitute up to 50% of the average monthly salary in the economy, based on the employee’s salary. The face value of the vouchers will not be taxed.
