Following the resignation of Alexandru Trubca from Parliament, acting Environment Minister Gheorghe Hajder could take over the parliamentary seat. Hajder was ranked 71st on PAS’s electoral list.
Hajder has not yet responded to inquiries from Realitatea and has not confirmed whether he intends to accept the parliamentary mandate. If he declines, the next candidate on the PAS list is Roman Roșca, who is ranked 72nd.
Roșca previously served as Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration. He was recently appointed State Secretary of the Government, where he is responsible for reintegration policies.
Alexandru Trubca resigned after information about his real estate business activities emerged in the public sphere. Ahead of the publication of an investigative report by the media, the lawmaker publicly disclosed details about the company he founded and its operations, saying he wanted to address the issue openly.
