EU companies have three days to register for an airport tender to compete with France’s Lagardere

The French company “Lagardere” is practically the winner of the tender at the airport, which is to be resumed immediately after the publication in the Official Gazette of the law that was repeatedly adopted after it was declared unconstitutional. That’s because other potential suitors for the commercial space there have less than three days to submit their packet of documents if they want to take part in the competition. The head of the JPA, Roman Cojuhari, said it himself during a program on TV8, journalists from Ziua.md report.

According to him, despite the extremely short deadline, the airport will also “send the offer” to other identified EU companies. At the same time, he made it clear that after the repeal of the loophole law, the tender would not be organized again but resumed.

“At the last tender, the Lagardere company submitted only one case. Lagardere has already submitted the case to the ongoing tender. The remaining time left to finalize the tender is three days. We have asked the commission, after the announcement is published in the Official Gazette, to also send those letters to all the companies that have been identified in the EU and can participate in this tender to inform them that from such and such a date, until such and such a date, to submit the package of documents,” Roman Cojuhari said the cited source reports.

The third tender at Chisinau Airport failed after the Constitutional Court declared unconstitutional on June 21 the legislative amendments extending the term for leasing commercial premises, adopted by the parliamentary majority on the initiative of MP Radu Marian. Subsequently, Parliament sent the law back for re-examination and revoked it.
