The European Union could open new negotiating clusters for Moldova and Ukraine’s accession to the bloc following the next Intergovernmental Conference, scheduled to take place in Luxembourg next week.

The announcement was made by European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos on the sidelines of the 10th EU–Moldova Association Council meeting, according to IPN.

“It is possible that we will open the two clusters for Moldova and Ukraine following the next IGC in Luxembourg,” Marta Kos said.

Moldovan authorities have set a target of completing the country’s European integration process by 2030.

Brussels has repeatedly praised Moldova’s progress and the reforms implemented as part of its EU accession process.
