The governmental program European Courtyard resumed its work after a temporary suspension during the cold season to protect the quality of interventions. The project rehabilitates apartment block courtyards in Chișinău and its suburbs, providing residents with modern, safe, and functional urban spaces.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development, Vladimir Bolea, held a meeting with the contractors implementing the projects, calling them to deploy teams on the ground. During the discussions, he emphasized the importance of following execution schedules, ensuring high-quality work, and maintaining contractors’ responsibility toward residents awaiting completion.

“The European Courtyard program is a program for the people, and the quality of the works and of the materials used is a priority. Build these courtyards in such a way that they truly become your business card,” Bolea said.

The Government allocates up to 5 million lei for each selected courtyard for repair works, which include modernizing access roads and stairways, installing street lighting, arranging parking spaces and playgrounds, placing urban furniture, and creating access ramps for people with reduced mobility.

The European Courtyard program improves the quality of life for Chisinau residents by providing safe, modern, and attractive urban spaces that meet community needs and create a comfortable environment for everyday life. The Ministry of Infrastructure stresses that responsible execution and compliance with technical standards are crucial for the initiative’s success.
