Several speakers of European parliaments have called on the USA to provide international assistance to the Ukrainian people. In an open letter to the speaker of the US House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, the heads of legislative bodies express their support for joint efforts to help Ukraine. The document was also signed by the speaker of the Moldovan parliament, Igor Grosu, the legislature has said.
In the past two years of conflict, nations that share our common values, and believe in a world governed by rules and respect for the UN Charter have united to assist Ukraine and its citizens in resisting the brutal aggression that claims hundreds of lives daily. The open letter from the Speakers states that our countries are committed to further increasing our support for Ukraine and its defence forces, seeing this as a considerable investment in our individual and collective security. Our task is to prevent this descent into chaos.
