Prime Minister Dorin Recean announced that the feasibility study for the Chisinau–Ungheni segment of the Iasi–Ungheni–Chisinau highway will be completed by the end of this year.
“We have many roads to repair and build, significant ones to build from scratch, such as the Iasi–Ungheni–Chisinau highway. By the end of this year, the feasibility study for the Chisinau–Ungheni segment will be ready,” Recean said at a press conference.
The Iasi–Ungheni–Chisinau highway extends the Union Highway, which starts in Targu Mures and reaches the Moldovan border near Ungheni village in Iasi County. This project also includes the Ungheni road bridge over the Prut River—symbolically named the Flower Bridge—whose construction began on April 26.
