The five Russian-born individuals who have been granted Moldovan citizenship are members of the crew of the band Bi-2. The details were provided by the band itself and confirmed by representatives of Moldova’s Presidential Administration in Chisinau.

According to Bi-2’s official website, the individuals are the band’s engineers. The group also expressed its gratitude to Moldova in Romanian.

“Moldova is a country that, like our band, has chosen freedom. We are close to it both in life and in music. Moldovans are also warm and generous people. You arrive as a guest, but you leave as one of their own. (…) Thank you, Moldova,” the band members said.

On October 9, President Maia Sandu signed a decree granting citizenship of the Republic of Moldova to six people. Five of them were born in the Russian Federation, while one was born in the Kyrgyz Republic.
