Janis Mazeiks, the former EU Ambassador to Chisinau, known for his large collection of ties, has traded his suits and dress shoes for military fatigues. The diplomat put on a military uniform and posed for a photo holding a weapon.
Mazeiks said he spent three weeks taking part in military training with the Armed Forces. Following the course, the former diplomat became a reservist.
“I learned a lot of new things during these three weeks — weapons handling and safety, treating the wounded, countering drones and, of course, discipline,” Mazeiks wrote on social media.
Janis Mazeiks headed the EU Delegation in Chisinau from 2021 to 2025.
