Former MoldATSA Director Dumitru Vangheli, who stepped down after a scandal involving false information in his CV, has submitted his asset declaration upon leaving office. The document reveals a substantial fortune, most of which was accumulated before he took over the management of the state-owned enterprise, Bani.md reports.

According to the declaration, Vangheli earned a salary of 643,000 Moldovan lei from MoldATSA in 2026. He also reported interest income from financial assets held in both the Republic of Moldova and Canada.
Among his real estate holdings is a nearly 400-square-meter house, purchased in 2022 for €425,000 and now valued at €860,000, with the increase attributed to the property’s appreciation in market value. He also owns the adjacent land, assessed at the same market value, as well as an agricultural plot received as a donation.
The declaration also lists a collection of luxury and premium vehicles, including a Rolls-Royce Ghost, Lexus RX 450H, Tesla Model S, Mazda CX-5, Ford Escape PHEV, and Toyota Camry, all registered in his name.
In addition to his real estate and vehicles, Vangheli reported significant financial assets in Canada. These include a bank deposit of CAD 491,553 at Tangerine Bank and a current account containing approximately CAD 2,767 at CIBC Bank.
The declaration also reveals an extensive cryptocurrency portfolio. Vangheli reported holdings in Bitcoin, Ethereum, Chainlink (LINK), TRX, XCH, Shiba Inu, and Iridium. His largest investment consists of 100,000 LINK tokens, purchased for $625,000, followed by 7 Bitcoin acquired for $330,000 and 40 Ethereum purchased for $148,680. Altogether, the declared acquisition value of his virtual assets exceeds $1.1 million.
The scandal surrounding Dumitru Vangheli, the former head of the state-owned air navigation company MoldATSA, erupted in June 2026 following an investigative report by Ziarul de Gardă. The investigation alleged that Vangheli had included false information in his official CV and exposed alleged financial abuses and serious security shortcomings in the vetting of public officials. The case ultimately led to high-level dismissals and searches conducted by anticorruption prosecutors.
