On December 31, SA Energocom and SA Moldovagaz conducted a test for importing natural gas, delivering 240 MWh (over 22,000 cubic meters) from Bulgaria via the Trans-Balkan corridor. The gas entered Moldova at the Causeni interconnection point after transiting Bulgaria, Romania, and Ukraine. This test confirmed the commercial and logistical feasibility of an alternative supply route for the Transnistrian region.
Amid the ongoing energy crisis, SA Energocom and SA Moldovagaz announced their readiness to provide technical and commercial support to SRL Tiraspoltransgaz for purchasing natural gas from any European platform. This approach aims to ensure energy access for residents on the left bank of the Nistru River under market-based conditions.
Since SA Moldovagaz cannot directly participate in EU gas markets, cooperation through an agency contract with SA Energocom is required.
