Gherasimov Visits Latvia to Strengthen Support for Moldova’s European Integration. She will also meet with the civil society

Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov is conducting a working visit to Riga as part of Moldova’s ongoing dialogue with EU member states to strengthen support for its European integration.

During her visit, Gherasimov will meet with Latvia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Baiba Braže; Latvia’s representative in the EU Council’s General Affairs Council, Artjoms Ursulskis; the Chair of the Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee, Inara Murniece; and the Chair of the Parliamentary Committee for European Affairs, Edmunds Cepurītis.

“The dialogue with each EU member state is vital for advancing Moldova’s European path, as European integration relies on trust and cooperation between states,” stated Cristina Gherasimov.

She praised Latvia’s transformation since joining the European Union 21 years ago and emphasized that Moldova can learn a great deal from Latvia’s experience in modernization and development.

Gherasimov will also engage in open dialogue with representatives of Latvian civil society organizations, focusing on their essential role in supporting democracy and the European integration process.
