Moldovans living in Greece can exchange their Moldovan driver’s licenses without taking any tests. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova announced that, as of March 6, 2025, the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the Government of the Hellenic Republic on the Mutual Recognition and Conversion of Driver’s Licenses has come into force.
“Thus, Moldovan citizens will be able to exchange their driver’s licenses in Greece without the obligation to take additional exams, whether theoretical or practical,” the MFA stated.

The Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Athens will hold meetings with members of the Moldovan diaspora in Greece to provide further clarifications and facilitate the conversion process.
Moldova has signed agreements with Israel, Turkey, Albania, Spain, Lithuania, and France for the mutual recognition of driver’s licenses and has also signed a declaration with Germany about license transcription.
