Moldova’s Railways to Resume Passenger Route to Odesa at Start of Summer Season
Moldovan Railways (CFM) will reopen the Chisinau–Odesa passenger route at the beginning of the summer season. According to IPN, acting director Serghei Cotelinic and his delegation from CFM will reopen the route during their visit to Kyiv.
During the visit, officials also explored options to resume Ukrainian freight transport via Moldovan rail lines to the European Union and vice versa. Since the start of the war in Ukraine, Moldova has redirected most passenger and freight traffic through its territory.
Representatives of the Moldovan and Ukrainian railway companies also discussed using the ferry service operated by Moldovan Railways to transport cargo in freight wagons from Chornomorsk Port in Ukraine to Batumi Port in Georgia.
