Greek authorities approved Chisinau’s request to extradite the oligarch Vlad Plahotniuc, former leader of the Democratic Party. They scheduled the extradition for September 25. Minister of Internal Affairs Daniella Misail-Nichitin confirmed the plan to the press, reports IPN.
The Ministry is currently coordinating airplane tickets for the team that will carry out the extradition procedure. The authorities await final confirmations regarding the flight and will provide more details once they receive them, the minister said.
The minister explained that the process requires procedures and special requirements, responding to questions about the delay and speculation that the timing might serve political purposes ahead of the parliamentary elections.
