Greece has expressed its willingness to organize an economic mission to Moldova in the spring of 2026 to explore investment opportunities in strategic sectors such as energy, infrastructure, and logistics. Representatives of the Greek government and the Project Preparation Facility, a unit of Greece’s National Investment Fund GrowthFund, announced the intention during a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development and Digitization Eugeniu Osmochescu.

The meeting followed up on the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two governments in August 2025 and focused on launching negotiations for an intergovernmental agreement. This agreement will create the bilateral legal framework that will allow Greece to provide specialized technical assistance for implementing the EU Growth Plan for Moldova.

Participants discussed strengthening institutional capacity, aligning administrative practices with European standards, preparing investment projects for implementation, increasing the absorption of European funds, and accelerating structural reforms.

The Ministry of Economic Development and Digitization reaffirmed its readiness to start negotiations on the intergovernmental agreement and to organize joint events to attract investments and deepen Moldovan Greek economic cooperation in support of Moldova’s European integration.
