Ilan Shor, a fugitive oligarch who was sentenced to 15 years in prison in Moldova for a “bank fraud” case, has once again left for Russia. The statements were made by the head of the General Inspectorate of Police, Viorel Cernauteanu, in a programme on “Jurnal TV.”
The head of the Inspectorate General of Police reported that Shor departed from Israel on 25 February.
” Based on the latest information provided to the Interpol alert system, it is known that the individual in question departed the country on the morning of 25 February. Although he hasn’t been confirmed where he is now, we know from operational intelligence that he has returned to the Russian Federation. It should be noted that he was in Israel for only one week,” the Inspectorate General of Police’s head stated.
Cernauteanu observed that Shor circumvents transit through European countries, opting instead to fly via Istanbul or the United Arab Emirates. He suggested that Shore may have papers for another identity.
