Higher Minimum Pension Starting May 1, 2025. Birth Allowances Will Also Increase

According to the draft state budget law, the minimum old-age pension will rise to 3,300 MDL starting May 1, 2025.

This amount will be provided to individuals with a full contribution period of 40 years at the time their pension is determined, as reported by IPN. In 2024, the payment stands at 2,777 MDL.

Additionally, the one-time allowance granted at the birth of a child will also increase from 20,000 MDL to 21,350 MDL, with the amount adjusted to reflect the minimum basket of goods necessary for childbirth.

Authorities also plan to increase the monthly allowance for rehabilitated victims of political repression by 250 MDL. Furthermore, the state budget law allocates 1.4 billion MDL for energy compensation in monetary payments.
