How much can the construction of the Iasi-Ungheni-Chisinau-Odessa highway cost? Answer from the Minister of Infrastructure

The construction of the Iasi-Ungheni-Chisinau-Odessa highway may cost €3 billion, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Andrei Spinu said.

The cost of each of the 300 kilometers of the section may be from 8 to 12 million euros. According to Andrei Spinu’s estimates, construction work on the road could take ten years, but more details will be known after a feasibility study is completed by the end of 2025.

“We have signed a contract for a pre-feasibility study. Based on the results of these two studies, it will be clear what the technical parameters of the highway will be, the width, and the geographical points where the highway will pass. Based on this analysis, it will be clear what the approximate cost will be. This summer, we will have a preliminary feasibility study, and at the end of 2025, we will also conduct a feasibility study. The construction of the entire section of the highway requires a longer period – more than ten years,” said Andrei Spinu.
