Young people in Moldova will be able to take part in the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship programme offered by Hungary through the Tempus Public Foundation. The programme supports the training of qualified specialists needed by the national economy.
Moldova’s Ministry of Education and Research and Hungary’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade signed a Memorandum of Understanding that sets out this opportunity.
Under the programme, the Hungarian government will offer 40 scholarships each year to Moldovan citizens for all three cycles of higher education: bachelor, master, and doctoral studies.
Both sides will coordinate the list of available specializations, with a focus on fields important for Moldova’s economy, such as agriculture, engineering, exact sciences, information technology, and political science.
Education and Research Minister Dan Perciun said the Stipendium Hungaricum programme offers young people in Moldova a valuable chance to develop their academic and professional skills at prestigious Hungarian universities.
“Through this partnership, we strengthen international cooperation in education and invest in a new generation of specialists who will contribute to the sustainable development of our country,” the minister said.
The Memorandum also provides for the creation of an Alumni Programme, which will build a graduate community and allow authorities to track graduates’ professional careers.
The Ministry of Education and Research has cooperated with Hungarian partners under the Stipendium Hungaricum programme since 2014.
