The so-called foreign ministry on the left bank of the Dniester issued a statement criticizing remarks by Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Valeriu Chiveri on reintegration and urged him to refrain from speaking on behalf of the Transnistrian people.

The separatist administration claimed that Valeriu Chiveri has avoided contacts with left-bank officials since taking office and reiterated accusations that Chisinau blocks dialogue with Tiraspol.

In its statement, the administration said it noted remarks by the Moldovan negotiator on Transnistria that, in its view, show disorientation and a lack of professional competence. It also accused Chisinau of failing to submit substantial proposals on current issues and of deliberately sabotaging interaction, which it said undermines the efforts of Transnistria and international mediators involved in the settlement process.

The separatist authorities rejected what they described as false claims about an alleged choice of reintegration by the majority of Transnistrian citizens and called on the Moldovan official to stop speaking on behalf of the population. They stated that, in their view, only referendums can reflect the consolidated opinion of residents of the region.

Valeriu Chiveri said before the government meeting on December 14, 2025, that amid the state of emergency in the economy on the left bank of the Dniester, Tiraspol must accept the offer of reintegration. He said reintegration would allow enterprises in the region to resume their activity.

The deputy prime minister stressed that the process предусматривает gradual alignment of the region with the constitutional legal framework and said that residents of the region support reintegration.
