One year after the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) won Moldova’s parliamentary elections, party leader Igor Grosu said the government’s main objectives remain unchanged, including strengthening state institutions, restarting the economy and consolidating the rule of law.
“Exactly one year ago, citizens chose for the Republic of Moldova not to fall into Russia’s hands and to continue on its European path,” Grosu said in a message marking the anniversary of the party’s electoral victory.
“Our objectives have remained the same – to build strong institutions, restart the economy and strengthen the rule of law,” he added.
Grosu also acknowledged concerns among citizens over rising energy costs, following recent increases in natural gas and heating tariffs.
“We will do everything we can to mitigate this shock – the government will introduce heating compensation, while VAT and excise revenues will be targeted toward those who need them most,” Grosu said.
“At the same time, we must not allow difficulties to bring us down and must continue the important work we started this year. Moldova must move forward, and we will continue working in this direction,” the PAS leader added.
The parliamentary elections were held in Moldova on September 28, 2025. PAS won 50.20% of the vote and 55 seats, retaining an absolute majority in Parliament.
The Electoral Bloc “Patriotic” received 24.17% and 26 seats, while the “Alternative” Electoral Bloc won 7.96% and eight seats.
The “Our Party” received 6.20% and six seats, while the “Democracy at Home” Party obtained 5.62% and six seats.
Voter turnout was 52.24%, with the results validating the parliamentary election.
The anniversary comes as the government faces growing pressure over rising energy prices, while continuing to pursue Moldova’s European integration agenda.
