Is the Tiraspol regime anticipating a new energy crisis? It is preparing coal and solid fuel boilers

The Tiraspol regime does not rule out a new energy crisis. Local officials reported to Vadim Krasnoselski that they are preparing for the new heating season. The separatist administration has publicly announced that it is preparing for both predictable and exceptional situations.

Officials admitted the risks of limited gas supplies, stressed the need for alternative heating sources, and briefed the separatist leader about solid-fuel or mixed-fuel boiler houses that will provide heat to social institutions.

“Three mobile heating plants running on diesel fuel are ready to produce heat. The Electromas plant is manufactured and ready to deliver five large solid-fuel boilers. We have 500 tons of coal in storage and plan to purchase another 1,200 tons,” officials from the left bank of the Dniester reported.

Meanwhile, local bloggers posted videos on social media about the possibility of a new energy crisis and preparations for the cold season.

On January 1, 2025, Gazprom cut off supplies to the left bank of the Dniester. As a result, during the first months of this year, residents of the Transnistrian region lived without heating and hot water, while authorities rationed electricity to just a few hours a day after the Cuciurgan power plant switched to coal. The EU supported gas purchases, but the separatist authorities refused to extend this aid and instead signed a contract with a Hungarian company, paid through a Dubai-registered intermediary. Russia provided the loan for gas purchases.
