Is there a danger of destabilization of the situation in Moldova? EU Ambassador’s response

It is important that the country builds its resilience. This is how the ambassador of the European Union in Chisinau, Janis Mazeiks, commented on the information presented by the country’s president, Maia Sandu, about Moscow’s attempts to destabilize the situation in the Republic of Moldova.

“We saw this public information, which referred to the information presented by President Zelensky and the one presented by Mrs. Sandu. And we saw that there were attempts to destabilize the country, but the authorities managed to manage the situation. It is not something very recent, it is rather something undertaken regularly. It is important for the country to strengthen its resilience,” said Janis Mazeiks.

The ambassador also specified that the Republic of Moldova is already taking a series of measures to ensure the security of its citizens.

“Security from our perspective is not only about adequate equipment for the army and the police, but also about the power of the institutions, the mass media, and these are the areas in which we have been working for years. I would also mention the energy sector”, concluded the ambassador.

Recently, the head of state stated that there is information that Moscow would try to destabilize the situation in the Republic of Moldova.
