The IT sector generated more than one quarter of Moldova’s total services exports, exceeding 600 million US dollars in the January–September 2025 period, the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization (MDED) reported.
IT services exports increased by 23 percent compared with the same period of the previous year, reflecting the growing competitiveness of digital solutions developed in Moldova on international markets.
The MDED said this performance confirms the transformation of the IT sector from a fast-growing industry into a strategic pillar of the national economy. The results also strengthen Moldova’s position as a regional hub for technology and innovation, with strong potential for sustainable growth and integration into the global digital economy.
According to official statistics, Moldova’s total services exports grew by 9.7 percent in January–September 2025, contributing 1.4 percentage points to overall GDP growth.
