Kevin Covert is serving as the Charge d’Affaires a.i. of the U.S. Embassy in Moldova. He is detailed from his position as Director for Eastern European Affairs at the U.S. Department of State, covering Moldova, Ukraine, and Belarus.
“A career member of the Senior Foreign Service, Kevin has also served as Director for Afghanistan Affairs, Deputy Chief of Mission in New Zealand, and Chargé d’Affaires at the U.S. Embassy in Tajikistan. Kevin is an alumnus of Cornell University, Pembroke College (Oxford), and Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service. He speaks Russian, Ukrainian, and French, and has studied Arabic, Kazakh, Korean, Tajik, and Te Reo Māori,” the U.S. Embassy stated.
