Some politicians want authorities to shoot down drones, while others are demanding reports on how Moldova uses money provided by foreign partners for defense. The Realitatea team asked members of Parliament how the country should respond to unmanned aerial vehicles that violate Moldova’s airspace.

Lawmakers agreed that such incidents pose a danger to citizens. At the same time, they said they still lack sufficient information about the May 13 incident, when a drone crossed Moldova from north to south.

Olga Ursu stated that she has always condemned violations of the country’s airspace, while socialist leader Igor Dodon stressed that authorities should also focus on solving domestic problems.

The leader of the Our Party faction, Renato Usatii, said the drone was “flying casually” and admitted that he had asked ChatGPT about the aircraft’s speed.

More reactions from lawmakers are available in the attached report.
