Members of the Lithuanian Parliament are visiting the Republic of Moldova. The delegation includes Remigijus Motuzas and Audronius Azubalis, members of the Committee on Foreign Affairs.

President Maia Sandu received the representatives of the Baltic state at the Presidency. The officials discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation and Lithuania support for the Republic of Moldova.

The two parliamentarians reaffirmed the backing of the legislature in Vilnius for advancing Moldova accession to the European Union, a path that Lithuania completed 20 years ago.

As the region marks four years since Russia launched its full scale invasion of Ukraine, the talks also focused on regional security, Ukraine resilience, and the need for close cooperation among European states to strengthen democratic resilience.

Maia Sandu thanked the Lithuanian MPs for their consistent support, including at the European level. The interlocutors agreed to continue their political dialogue.
