Officers of the Botanica Police Inspectorate, whom officers of the National Anti-Corruption Center detained earlier this week, are being brought to the Chisinau Court, Ciocana branch. On April 24, prosecutors will request pre-trial detention for the suspects.

Authorities detained six employees of the Botanica Police Inspectorate on April 21 in a case involving passive and active corruption under aggravating circumstances. Investigators state that the suspects systematically demanded and received money ranging from $3,000 to $10,000, both in cash and cryptocurrency. Individuals involved in drug use and illicit trafficking allegedly provided the funds.
During the searches, authorities seized key documents relevant to the criminal cases, as well as prohibited items that will undergo expert examination.
