President Maia Sandu condemned the attacks launched by Russia on the Ukrainian cities of Kyiv, Dnipro, and Odesa, which resulted in at least 15 civilian deaths.

The head of state called for greater European unity, increased support for Ukraine, and additional sanctions against Russia, emphasizing that the war will stop only when Russia stops.

“During the night, Russia bombed residential buildings in Kyiv, Dnipro, and Odesa. At least 15 civilians were killed. My thoughts are with all those who have lost their loved ones,” Maia Sandu wrote on Twitter.

“What is needed now is more European unity, more support for Ukraine, more sanctions against Russia—because this war will stop only when Russia stops,” the president added.

Russia launched a massive attack on Ukraine during the night of April 15–16, using 44 missiles and approximately 700 drones.

As a result of the bombings, four people were killed in Kyiv, including a child, and 58 were injured. In Odesa, eight deaths and 16 injuries were reported, while in the Dnipropetrovsk Region, three people were killed and 34 injured.
