President Maia Sandu met with Moldovan citizens in the United Kingdom on Wednesday, July 17, during her working visit.
“Last night, I met with our citizens in the United Kingdom, and I am grateful for them sharing their concerns and hopes with me. I listened carefully and spoke to them about investing in health and education, planting dozens of hectares of forests to reduce the impact of climate change, building power lines, and making firm steps toward EU membership. I was pleased to hear that Moldovans in the diaspora are also contributing: launching initiatives for children with special needs and implementing projects that bring the diaspora closer to home and each other,” said the head of state.
She also mentioned that the discussions focused on the desire to bring the diaspora back home and build a modern country.
