President Maia Sandu met with the chairpersons of the foreign affairs committees from the Nordic-Baltic Eight (NB8) parliaments, representing Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, and Sweden. Established in 1992, NB8 fosters regional cooperation, dialogue, and coordination on shared international and regional issues.
The discussions focused on Moldova’s European path, political and economic support from partners, and security challenges arising from Russia’s war against Ukraine. President Sandu emphasized the importance of continued Nordic and Baltic support in strengthening Moldova’s democracy and resilience against external pressures.
The NB8 foreign affairs committee chairpersons will visit Moldova from March 31 to April 1 as part of ongoing regional cooperation efforts.
