The Mayor of Chisinau, Ion Ceban, announced that he plans to speak at the first session of the new Parliament on Wednesday, October 22. He made the statement during the City Hall meeting on October 20.
“Wednesday marks the start of Parliament’s activity, and my colleagues and I will attend the first session. I hope to speak from the Parliament podium about the proposals and expectations of the people for this Legislature,” said Ceban.
The mayor added that he asked his team to prepare all projects regarding the municipality of Chisinau so deputies can review them once the Legislature resumes work. “I ask that all projects regarding Chisinau that we discussed reach the deputies’ desks when Parliament begins functioning,” he emphasized.
The new legislative term will officially start on Wednesday after the Constitutional Court validates the mandates.
According to the presidential decree, the first session will begin at 10:00 AM. Deputies will elect Parliament’s leadership and working bodies and start procedures to form the new Government.
