The Moldovan Embassy in Berlin remains in constant contact with German authorities to determine whether any Moldovan citizens are among the victims of the tragic incident at the Christmas Fair in Magdeburg, Germany. As of this evening, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) in Chisinau reported no confirmed information indicating that Moldovan citizens are among the victims.
“The Ministry expresses deep solidarity with the families of the victims and all those affected by this tragedy. Our embassy has activated a 24/7 hotline for Moldovan citizens in Germany at +49 176 458 13159, providing assistance and information. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to monitor the situation closely and keep the public informed of any updates,” stated MFA spokesperson Tatiana Barac.
On Friday evening, December 20, a car struck a crowd at a Christmas fair in Magdeburg, a city in northern Germany. The latest reports indicate at least four fatalities and approximately 200 injuries. Authorities are still working to identify all the victims and investigate the incident.
