Mihai Popsoi discussed strengthening Moldovan-British cooperation with Yvette Cooper over the phone

Foreign Minister Mihai Popsoi held a phone call with United Kingdom Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper, during which they discussed strengthening Moldovan British cooperation in key strategic areas.

The officials focused on advancing cooperation within the Defence and Security Partnership and on developing economic ties through initiatives designed to bring the two countries business communities closer together.

Pops oi thanked the United Kingdom for its close cooperation and for acting as a reliable partner of the Republic of Moldova, including through support for national development and efforts to ensure regional security.

The ministers also discussed cooperation within the Council of Europe in the context of Moldova holding the Presidency of the Committee of Ministers. During the call, Pops oi invited Cooper to take part in the session of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, scheduled to take place in Chisinau in May 2026.

The two foreign ministers agreed to continue dialogue and cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
