All public officials, including ministers, who are running in the upcoming parliamentary elections will resign from their posts starting August 29, according to Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mihai Popsoi.
In discussions with journalists, Popsoi explained that all candidates who submitted their files to the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) have signed a formal commitment to suspend their public duties during the election campaign.
“As you know, with the submission of documents to the CEC, we have all signed the resignation starting from August 29,” Popsoi stated.

The Deputy Prime Minister did not clarify who would lead the Ministry of Foreign Affairs during his absence from office while focusing on the campaign.
The list of candidates from the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) includes several high-ranking officials, among them:
- Prime Minister, Dorin Recean.
- Minister of Agriculture, Vladimir Bolea.
- Minister of Education, Dan Perciun.
- Minister of the Environment, Sergiu Lazarencu.
- Minister of Culture, Victoria Belous.
- Minister of Labor and Social Protection, Ludmila Catlabuga.
These resignations are part of the legal and ethical framework ensuring neutrality and fairness during the electoral process.
