Moldovan airline HiSky is launching a new flight from Bucharest (Romania) to New York (USA) with departures on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. The first flight is scheduled for June 7, 2024.

In a significant development, HiSky officially secured authorization for scheduled flights to the United States as of December 12, 2023. The company proudly announced the achievement at 22:00 Romanian time, indicating that after successfully navigating through all stages of the verification process, the U.S. Department of Transportation has granted them the Foreign Air Transport Operator Permit. This pivotal permit empowers HiSky to conduct flights to any destination within the United States.
This positive outcome follows the signing of an agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the United States in May 2023, paving the way for the facilitation of direct flights. At that juncture, Chisinau expressed optimism that such connections would enhance the diversity of destinations available at Chisinau International Airport.
Now, HiSky boasts a network of flights from Chisinau International Airport to various European destinations, including the UK, Belgium, Ireland, Turkey, Germany, France, Italy, Israel, and Romania. The addition of direct flights to the United States marks a significant expansion in the airline’s services and provides a promising prospect for enhanced international connectivity.
