Moldova Advances in EU Accession, Completes Key Screening Meetings

According to the EU delegation in Moldova, Moldova has reached a significant milestone in its European Union (EU) accession process by completing screening meetings for Cluster 6—External Relations. This achievement brings the country halfway through the negotiation process.

The EU Delegation noted that upcoming meetings will focus on:

  • Cluster 3 – Competitiveness and Inclusive Growth
  • Cluster 4 – Green Agenda and Sustainable Connectivity
  • Cluster 5 – Natural Resources, Agriculture, and Cohesion

“These steps are crucial for Moldova’s economic development and modernization, ensuring alignment with EU standards and unlocking new economic and social opportunities,” the delegation stated.

This week in Brussels, Moldovan public officials and European Commission experts analyzed three negotiation chapters:

  • Chapter 28 – Consumer and Health Protection
  • Chapter 6 – Company Law
  • Chapter 31 – Foreign, Security, and Defense Policy

Deputy Prime Minister Cristina Gherasimov thanked all involved institutions for their efforts and reaffirmed Moldova’s commitment to EU integration.

“We continue with the same determination and courage!” she emphasized.
