The Republic of Moldova has the potential to double its exports over the next two years, said Eugeniu Osmochescu, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization, during the “Cutia Neagră” program on TV8.
“I am sure we can increase by about half. To double them — if we currently have 3–4 billion, we could reach nearly 7 billion. Yes, we can double,” Osmochescu stated, explaining that there are objective factors that could support this growth, including climate conditions and the international economic context.
The minister emphasized that 2025 has been a favorable year for exports, while the outlook for 2026 and 2027 will depend on how these factors evolve.
“Of course, we cannot speak only about 2026. We need to compare the 2025–2026 figures with 2027 in order to see the real growth,” the official added.
The statement comes at a time when Moldova is strengthening its economy and seeking to expand its presence on foreign markets through investments and policies that support domestic production. Increasing exports would represent an important step for economic development and attracting new investments to the country.
