Representatives of Moldova and the European Union are meeting in Brussels today for the 10th meeting of the Association Council, to review progress in bilateral cooperation over the past 12 months.

The agenda includes reforms in areas such as security, justice, the economy and energy, as well as key issues related to Moldova’s European integration agenda.

The high-level meeting takes place annually under the Association Agreement signed by Moldova and the European Union in 2014.

Moldova’s delegation is being led by Prime Minister Vasile Tofan, while the EU delegation is headed by High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas, Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov said.

“These meetings are particularly important for our country because they help us assess the progress made over the past 12 months, but also establish the priorities that will guide the government’s work over the next year,” Gherasimov said.

The Association Council is the main institutional framework for political dialogue between Moldova and the European Union and is held annually under the Association Agreement.
